Not-stagram 24th - 30th aug

L: hey! quick one this week - I’m on what I guess you’d call “annual leave” from my phd, and although I’ve been doing little bits of work, we’re sort of on holiday right now and I don’t want to write anything that I don’t have to!

L: Boba is settling in well and has also acquired several new names so he is Boba/Bubba/Baba ghanoush/Babadook - living with a cat has mostly involved panicked googling.

A: He is the best boy. But looking after him and giving him a good start in our house meant we had to cancel our Aberdeen holiday. In some ways it is a relief- i think we are both feeling pretty overwhelmed at the moment, but I’m also pretty sad we aren’t anywhere new! But we’re going to try and make the most of our staycation (we have some epic food being delivered!)

L: in prep for all the awesome cycling we’re going to do whilst i’m on hols, i put new grip tape and a bell that abi got me on my bike! never mind that my front derailleur is seized - who needs more than 6 gears anyway right?

A: We went into Edinburgh today as part of our staycation and had some bross bagels. We also popped into Lighthouse and signed our books. Ive had a massive anxiety block about going to Edinburgh and have only managed it twice since it became legally possible from Fife, so it was nice to have a pretty normal day. Also below you can see my new haircut which I am going to attempt to maintain like a real adult, rather than let it grow weird and long before desperately walking into the hairdressers. I got it cut at Vollod salon in Dunfermline, which prices by length rather than gender and I would 100% recommend.
